Pythagorean table for 2012 MLS regular season (2012-04-29)

Below is the Pythagorean table for the 2012 Major League Soccer regular season for matches played up to 29 April 2012.  The league Pythagorean exponent is 1.70.

Sporting Kansas City, San José Earthquakes, and Real Salt Lake have established some distance between themselves and the rest of the league, and that is reflected in the current Pythagorean table.  Sporting went out to a very hot start — the second-best in the history of the league — but in the end they only have a two-point difference from the Quakes, and in terms of expectations, they are even with the Quakes.  Everyone else has played for the most part within expectations except for Chivas USA and Toronto FC.
