Final Pythagorean table for 2010-11 Italian Serie A

Below is the final Pythagorean table for the 2010-11 Italian Serie A that concluded today.  As always I use the league Pythagorean exponent of 1.70.

Milan had such a dominant season in the league that it obscured the very good seasons of Inter and Napoli.  Napoli's overachievement made the difference in their passage into next season's Champions League, while Roma's overperformance allowed them to pip Juventus to the last Europa League slot.  Brescia and Bari were the big underachievers in the league this season, but even if they had performed to expectations they would have been relegated anyway.  (Sampdoria had just a poor season after starting it with so much promise, and their low residual gives an indication of that.)
