Program finalized for 7th World Congress on Science and Football

The 7th World Congress on Science and Football starts two weeks from today in Nagoya, and the final preparations for the conference are approaching completion.  You can read the final conference program here.  There are extensive paper and poster presentation sessions over the four days of the conference over a wide range of subject areas in football.  "Football" is meant in the broadest possible sense as all of the codes are represented, in particular soccer, rugby union, and Australian football.

Most of the papers and posters presented are Japanese, but there is a sizeable foreign contingent at the conference, especially from Australia.  The chair of the foreign steering committee is Australian and the Australian Football League is sponsoring an award for best paper on Australian rules football.  The only name I recognize on the foreign steering committee is Barry Drust, who is a sports science consultant for Liverpool FC.
