If you are considering a submission for the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference research paper contest, you will need to act fast. Deadline for submission of abstracts is next Friday, 16 September at 5pm EDT. As was the case last year, the selection process will take place over two rounds. The first round will cull the submitted abstracts into a group who will be invited to submit a full paper. Those papers will be reviewed and a final group will be selected to participate in the final round.
Basically, if you have a research project in progress, that is compelling and not yet published, you can still submit an abstract. The abstract isn't long, but if you don't have work in progress, the chances of passing to the second round are much lower.
The conference will be held 2-3 March at a new location — Hynes Convention Center in downtown Boston.
