As I mentioned in a post over a month ago, I was accepted to present a poster at this year's Northern California Symposium on Statistics and Operations Research in Sports. The list of oral and poster presentations has been finalized and you can view it at the NCSSORS website. The conference is dominated by presentations from the Big Four professional sports in the USA, but there are also presentations on cricket, tennis, golf, Australian rules football, and soccer.
I am one of two soccer analytics presentations at the conference. The other is an oral presentation by a Univ. of San Francisco professor that describes a methodology used to determine the best goalscorers in the major European soccer leagues.
There is still quite a bit of work to be done before I'm ready for the conference, and my recent computer issues haven't helped. But I will do my best to put those problems behind me, crank out some results, and represent Soccermetrics in October.
