Off to SSAC 2011

My bags are packed, and I'm about to complete some final chores before I go to bed.  Tomorrow I fly to Boston for the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.  I'm excited about the additional sessions and other features of the conference, and I look forward to networking with other sports analytics people (not just soccer) and learning more about the state of the field.

This year there is a dedicated session for soccer analytics which I plan to attend, and there is an enlarged research track with oral and poster presentations.  I haven't decided whether I'll liveblog the session or write something afterward; it'll depend on whether I can get a wireless connection and find a seat (last year's session was standing room only).

See you at the conference, and in particular Friday night at the soccer analysts' meetup.
