The NCSSORS meeting is now over, and it turned out to be better than I thought it would be. Yes, I had the only soccer-related poster, and no, there were no soccer officials at the meeting, but it was very valuable to trade information and insights with the basketball and baseball analysts. In the end, it's the intellectual interchange that is the most productive part of conferences like these. (The professor who presented a paper on soccer really ticked me off, but I'll go into that later.)
I return to southern Arizona tomorrow night, and I hope to write a fuller report on my trip on Monday.
