Off to Europe next week

Not everyone reads my other blog, so I'll repeat what I wrote there last week.  I am traveling to Europe next week, starting on the 23rd and continuing until 3 July.

My trip starts in Munich, where I take delivery of something nice and shiny, which will then allow me to get familiar with Switzerland, France, Italy, and Austria.  As of right now I have plans of visiting Zurich, Geneva, Turin, Milan, and Salzburg.  I'd love to visit Nice (and then Monaco) but I don't think I'll make it that far.  As a nice bonus, I'll be able to see the knockout rounds at a reasonable schedule, and four of the five countries that I'm visiting are in the World Cup and could still be in it by the knockout stage.  So it will be fun to see the local reaction as long as it doesn't get too rowdy!

I am bringing one of my laptops with me, but it won't be the one that I use to do the bulk of my statistical analysis.  I've been so busy putting together a reliable system of collecting and storing match data that I haven't had time to really think about the analyses that I want to do.  Some of it will have to wait until after I get back, and then after the World Cup.
