A couple of months ago I mentioned that UPenn Wharton had put forward a request for proposals for a ticketing analytics research opportunity with Stubhub. Relationship marketing isn't my main area of work, but the analytics tools for performance analysis and ticketing analysis are similar, so I decided to submit a proposal.
I am very pleased to announce that my proposal was one of six selected to participate in this research opportunity. Stubhub will provide the finalists with access to their dataset and research results will be presented at a forum at Wharton at the beginning of next year. It is my hope that this will be the start of productive research in sports ticketing analytics, and ultimately the start of funded projects in this area.
It's very good news and very encouraging, but now it's time to deliver!
